The main difference between dating and being in a relationship is that people in a relationship are connected by a mutual commitment to each other. You and the other person have agreed,   that you’re seeing each other exclusively and are in a partnership together.

Being in a relationship: A relationship by definition means a romantic or passionate attachment. People are in a relationship are typically in love with each other and want to spend their time together. In a relationship, you have to focus on the right things to make it work. If you love someone you try your best to win this person over. You’re committed to that one person and you spend time together and go on dates.

Dating in a relationship: Dating by definition is to do an activity with someone you might have a romantic relationship with. Or go on a date or several dates with someone.  Dating is when you are committed to one person you can go out and have fun with your friends if you want to or you can go out on a date. The date can be with anyone that you want.  You can go on a date with someone on one night and another person on another night simply because you are not committed to someone.

You’re not really looking around anymore

If you’re dating around, but someone special has pulled ahead of the pack, you’ve stepped into relationship territory. They’re your go-to person when you make plans

When you read about something fun going on, or the movie you’re dying to see comes out or if you’re invited to an office party, is the first thing you consider whether or not you get to bring a plus one? Do you check and see if this person is free before you commit to other plans? If the answer to any of these is yes, then it’s a sign that you’re beginning to picture a life in which they’re a mainstay. “get details here” it may brighten up your situation.

Is there a level of comfort when you have to ask your person for a favor?
